Royel Otis Chicago Concert reviews
Babyface and New Edition killed it
New Edition never disappoints! I am a HUGE NE fan and they hit the stage and did the damn thing. He also hopped off of the stage and ran through the crowd and showed love to some of his fans. Royel Otis.......... Well I've never seen her in concert before, so I was really excited to finally see her. Babyface's set was really enjoyable. Also, NE had the longest set time which was a plus. I really enjoyed her closing the show. Putting Jill as the closer was a bad idea. NE should've opened the show and Jill closed it out. She has a lot of hits and can def sing but they had her closing the show. How do you come to DC aka the home of go-go and not perform the original go-go version of "It's Love"? People were getting up and leaving during Jill's set. He took us back to the start of his career and did a medley of some of the songs he wrote for other artists (Tevin Campbell, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, Boyz 2 Men and After 7). She jazzed up the beat. We went from being on a high after Babyface and NE to a mellow performance from a person that didn't work the stage but stood in front of the mic the whole time.
